Kriegspiel: A Novel of Tomorrow's Europe
Published in Hardcover by Presidio Pr (January, 1993)
Average review score:

The best military style book I've ever read!Since I've just begun reading again, I finally decided to read Kriegspiel. I'd gotten the book, I'm embarrassed to say, nearly 6 years ago. But my past experience with military style books was that they were incredibly boring. Not this book! I couldn't set it down! I felt like I was in the middle of the battles myself. I hope Todd Stone writes more books in the future. I'll be first in line to read his next one.

LA Sombra Sobre El Banco De Piedra/Shadow on the Stone Bench
Published in Paperback by Ediciones SM (May, 1996)
Average review score:

Is one of the best books I have read of Maria GripeFirst of all I must say Maria Gripe is my favorite writer since I was at school(now I'm 20). But last year when I discovered this long story of the shadows, I couldn't believe it! I was fascinated reading this first part, when the beautiful friendship between Berta and Carolin begins, and I loved all the mysteries around Carolin. She was such a rare girl! But then when that tremendous secret was revealed I understood a little more about her behaviour. I recomend this book and I hope I can read the last part soon.

Langhorn & Mary: A 19th Century American Love Story
Published in Hardcover by Amber Books (27 March, 2003)
Average review score:

Ancestors come to life in this story!I couldn't put this book down right from the introduction.
Priscilla Stone Sharp has created a wonderful narrative woven around the factual documents she gathered during 15 years of family history research.
The story centers around 2 people, Langhorn Wellings, a black man, an orphan, born in the early 1800's and living in bucolic Bucks County Pennsylvania, befriended by the Quakers who helped him in many ways throughout his life, and his wife, Mary Stone, daughter of German-Americans Jacob & Mary Stone, one of 17 children.
Ms. Stone Sharp writes about her ancestors trials and triumphs in a most heartfelt and loving way, without getting overly emotional or making saints out of them. She honors their memory by creating a story of their life that is written with realism and warmth.
Langhorn and Mary's relationship not only had to bear up under the burden of nineteenth century extreme racism and its accompanying heartaches, but when Mary died of natural causes, Lang was accused of her murder, sent to jail and put on trial.
'Langhorn and Mary; A 19th Century American Love Story', in the end is a shining example of what doing family history research should be--bringing your ancestors lives into the light, becoming acquainted with them, and growing to love them.

Late Stone Age Hunters of the British Isles
Published in Hardcover by Routledge (March, 1998)
Average review score:

For those who are serious in prehistoric arachaeologyI was once an undergrad in archaeology at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Dr Christopher Smith was my personal tutor. He was concise, detailed, and serious researcher - and so was his book! This book may not be a just book for biginners or those who are merely interested in the subject. It is, however, a definite book for those who are really interested in prehistoric archaeology; it will bring you to the intellectual depth of the subject. So be prepared!

Lennon Remembers Rolling Stone Interview
Published in Paperback by Warner Books> C/o Little Br (01 January, 1971)
Average review score:

A great peek at Lennon, circa 1970An in-depth interview with John Lennon, on the eve of the release of his Plastic Ono Band album. Much of the material covered is similar to that of the 1980 Playboy Interviews, but with ten years between them, these are certainly distinctly different interviews. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this book is that we get a knee-jerk reaction from Lennon to the dissolution of The Beatles, as well as his thoughts on each member and their work directly following. While some other topics (Lennon and Ono's events for peace, politics, etc.) are discussed, the majority of conversation here is centered around music, be it the Beatles, Lennon, the Stones, Dylan, or others. A great read, recommended for any Lennon fan.

Life of Joseph Brant
Published in Hardcover by Periodicals Service Co (June, 1965)
Average review score:

Simply the bestStone's Life of Brant (1838) predates Lossing's Pictorial Field-Book of The Revolution (1859) by 21 years. In it are little know facts and discoveries a reader of the American Revolutionary period will find facinating. While Lossing covers the entire period in a manner second to none, Stone captures events specifically in the Mohawk R. vicinity. If you have visited this area, Stone's Life of Brant is a must read! This is a two-set volume that any true history buff should have in their library. I am lucky enough to have first editions of both Stone and Lossing. Tom Sayre, son of Russell P. Sayre of Pvt. Asa Hoskins fame.
